Bailey was the scholarship recipient for 2017.  She successfully raised our Heritage Hog and sold it at live auction to multiple buyers and donors.


Bailey is attending the University of Tennessee at Martin and is on their Equestrian Team!

If you answered YES to these questions then the Contra Costa County Fair Heritage Foundation would like to invite you, an active 4-H or FFA participant, to apply  for this year's opportunity to raise the 2017 Heritage Animal.


The Scholarship Recipient receives:


  • $1500 scholarship - proof of enrollment required.
  • $500 CASH prize
  • 2 passes to Contra Cost County Fair Heritage Foundation Hospitality room
  • Reimbursement for expensed related to raising the 2017 Heritage Animal - animal purchase, feed and basic equipment (with prior approval)


Student requirements:


  • Must be a Contra Costa County high school student who will be attending an accredited trade school, junior college, or university.
  • Must be willing to raise an animal for sale, with all proceeds benefiting the Contra Cost County Fair Heritage Foundation.
    • Submit the completed scholarship application, 3 letters of recommendation and attend an in-person interview with the scholarship committee.
  • Axt as an ambassador for the Heritage Foundation through the 2017 Contra Costa County Fair.
